aapreciate@yahoo.comI am a 45 year old mom, volunteer, and consultant with an MBA from Stanford. I consult for for-profit and non-profit companies in business development, marketing, strategy, and organizational development.
I live in an insane town in Northern California where everyone is "above average" which makes my PTA battles legendary. I believe in public service and wish I had done more earlier in my life. My network of friends is the backbone of my life, mostly offline but also some online. I still wish I could believe, from the Madwoman of Chaillot, that "there's nothing so wrong with the world that a sensible woman can't put it right in the course of an afternoon," but my faith has been shaken lately. I am not a fan of the philosophies of certain of our current elective officials.
My other passion is for wonderful fantasy and romance books. My all-star favorites include the books of Robin McKinley (always first on my list), Rachel Caine, Suzanne Brockmann, Michele Sagara, Karen Marie Moning, JR Ward, Simon Green, Georgette Heyer, Barbara Hambly, Laura Anne Gilman, CE Murphy, Kay Hooper, Nora Roberts, Rex Stout, Tanya Huff, Laurell K. Hamilton (only the Merry Gentry books), Catherine Asaro, Robert Crais and Linda Howard, among others. As you can see, I have a preference for women-written books. ;-)
